PROFEC-X

The definitive Profec resource.

**UPDATED 11-JUNE-09**
Profec E-01

This site was created as a means to help out those that have purchased a used Greddy Profec E-01
and that did not reciev the SD Card. Those who have know the frustration with not being able to have an
available resource for the Greddy SD Card.. Well no longer will this be the case since I will post all
available Greddy SD Card Images and revisions as I recieve them in hopes of forming a database.

Below are instruction on creating and backing up a SD card.
You will have to download and install a program which is required to complete the transfer from
and to the SD CARD.

DD.exe is the program required.. Download Here

Once installed you will need to execute all commands through the command prompt via typing "cmd" in
the run command line bar, which is located in window Start menu.
The command prompt is very similar to the old DOS screen.
Here are the required commands, I will greatly elaborate on these directions later on.
Until then I highly advise you to work out of a single directory since it will greatly
simplify the entire command process.
In other words once you have downloaded the required program and you have the desired images move them
all to a single directory, and work type all commands in the command prompt from that directory.
The portion of the command line that designates the Harddisk number you will enter in the number
assigned by your computer for the SD Card reader. The portion that designates the file name will
of course be unique to your computer as well.

How to back up your SD CARD::

dd bs=32k if=\\?\Device\Harddisk4\Partition0 of=profec-e01-v1_11.img --progress

How to restore your SD CARD::

dd bs=32k of=\\?\Device\Harddisk4\Partition0 if=profec-e01-v1_11.img --progress

Here is Pictorial on the process
Step 1
Create a directory on your computer and place your SD Card images and the DD.exe program in it.
I chose to create a simple directory on my desktop.
Create a folder for your files

Step 2
Lets get this started..
Open the "Start Menu" and click on "RUN"
Goto the Start Menu

Now enter "CMD" to open the command line interface also known as DOS..
Type CMD

Now we should be looking at the command line interface.
Your now at the Command line

Lets go to that Directory we created earlier.
Since my Folder is on my desktop I simply have to type:
CD Desktop\SD CARD Files
then hit ENTER
GOTO the Image Directory on the Desktop

Your next screen should be similar..
Similar screen

Lets go ahead and enter the command line for DD.exe
dd bs=32k if=\\?\Device\Harddisk3\Partition0 of=profecv1.15.img --progress
You will notice that I outlined the variables in the Image
Command input

This is how you can get the Disk#
First goto "My Computer" and Identify the Drive where your SD CARD is.
SD CARD Drive

Next Goto the SD Cards Properties Menu
SD CARD Drive properties

Now were at the Properties Menu
SD CARD Drive properties

Click on the "Hardware Tab"
Select a Drive/Device/Card Reader
Then Click the "Properties button" at the bottom.
**NOTE:If you are using one of these multiple card readers like me then you will have multiple identical devices as in the picture below.. Best way to figure out is to only have one card in.
SD CARD reader
Hardware Tab

Now that you are in the Properties Menu for your selected Drive/Device/Card Reader..
Select the "Volumes Tab"
Volumes Tab

Now Click the Populate button at the bottom.
Well it looks good because it shows my drive as being G:\ Drive which is correct..
My Disk # is displayed as 3.. So thats what I'll use for the command line.
Populate

So now that I have my required information I can run dd.exe in the command prompt.
Command input

If everything goes as planned you se this screen..
Command Complete

If you want to RIP a Image from your SD CARD use the same command line
though only minor changes are needed.. as outlined in this image.
back-up
Of course you should create a file name that is unique so your not over writing anything.
GOOD LUCK.

Known firmware versions::

Display: 1.00 / Center: 1.02 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.01 / Center: 1.02 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.02 / Center: 1.02 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.11 / Center: 1.10 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.13 / Center: 1.11 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.13 / Center: 1.12 Download SD Card Image Save
Display: 1.15 / Center: 1.15 Download SD Card Image Save
I am not sure how to seperate the actual file from the entire image, so all I can do is upload the entire image from the SD Card This is from a500MEG SD CARD.
